| " TheFDM4 Manufacturing modules are a leading solution for the Manufacturing requirements of Wholesalers and Distributors as well as Light Manufacturers. " |
|
| The FDM4 Manufacturing modules are fully integrated into the FDM4 Financial & Distribution modules. |
| Bill of Materials |
- Product costing calculates, on a global or individual item basis, the standard cost for each parent item in the product structure using data entered in the routing, work centre, and inventory portion of FDM4.
- FDM4 product costing calculates the labour, overhead, and raw material costs for each individual item then rolls up these incremental costs to an accumulated cost for each parent item in the product structure
- An audit trail record of each cost change is printed when updates are performed
- Inquiry and listing options for single items, ranges of items, or all items
- "Where-used" inquiry and listing by single item, range of items, or all items
- On-line component-on-hand status program checks the availability of required materials at all levels of the product structure prior to the release of a manufacturing work order
- Product structure comments printable on the shop paper
- Bill duplication capability allows copying of the entire structure to a new item
- Single level, multiple level, and summarized explosions are provided in on-line or report formats
Job Costing
- Costs tracked by the system are user defined as actual cost, average cost, or standard cost
- Purchase can be charged directly against specified jobs through the purchasing system
- Labour costs can be defined as actual cost with overtime, actual cost without overtime, or standard labour rate
- Detail reports include all labour, overhead, stock material, direct purchases, and adjustments
- Executive inquiries include both summary totals (standard vs. actual) and transaction detail for work order at any time from start of work order until complete
- Preliminary close report available after all finished goods are received to stock
- Labour history inquiry is available by work order and employee
- Cost reports show variance between the purchase order quoted price and the invoice price when the purchasing module is interfaced with the accounts payable module
- Material history inquiry by item and transaction date
- Manufacturing history tracking programs provide access to the accumulated history transactions of the software, which, are primarily related to labour history, material history, and work order history
Work Orders
- On-line creation of manufacturing orders
- Inquiry facility for all manufacturing orders
- A manufacturing priority can be assigned to each manufacturing order
- Ability to print components on the shop paper by bin location or reference number
- Comments can be added to manufacturing orders
- Shortages generated during order picking are stored and displayed on-line
- Detail or summary preliminary close report can be printed when complete job has been received to stock
- Materials required are committed in the work order entry program, and, the items being manufactured will be placed "on order"
- Material requirement list may be adjusted after work order has been released to the shop floor without affecting the standard bill of materials
Labour Distribution
- Labour distribution posts labour, overhead costs, and variances to the general ledger
- Labour information is used to update work-in-process as well as collect labour and overhead costs for manufacturing cost reporting
- Indirect labour and WIP (Work in Progress) can be allocated to general ledger accounts
- A labour performance report is generated by employee by job with week to date summaries available
- Costing options for labour entry can be a standard rate or employees rate
- Unlimited number of user defined employee rate codes with associated rate factors
- On-line inquiries and reports show all labour transactions
Routings
- Multiple routing revision levels may be established for each item with many operational steps within each revision
- Both runtime and costs are maintained in the routing system for use in the job process, standard costing, and cost reporting modules. Set up times and costs can be established for each type of operation
- Standard operations can be established prior to building routings and can be automatically updated during the routing entry stage. Subsequent maintenance of the standard operations can be established for each type of operation
- work centers can be established to define machine and labour capacities
